God Writes with Lion Claws

Two hours after the consecration of the third Family Federation course in Obudavár, Hungary – July 9, 2009 – not far from the Shrine, one of its members died: it was Csaba Ozsvári, an internationally known religious art silversmith. “Since then, everything is different from before,” says Moni R., a member of the third Family Federation course in Hungary, shortly after the sudden death of Csaba Ozsvári. Two hours after the magnificent Holy Mass for the consecration of the Course, amid the festivity and a short distance from the Shrine in Obudavár, he suffered a heart attack and died.

“Although the journey was profound and very painful,” Moni R. continues, “we were able to experience the love of God in our consecration with the “birth” of Csaba into Heaven and in the following two days in which we suffered and prayed together. God and our Heavenly Mother took us seriously. They accepted our surrender and through us they want to give new life to our country and to many people.”

He Loved the Church

Coat of arms of the course, designed by Csaba Ozsvári - Foto: ErhardThe Unity Cross in the Obudavár Shrine is artistically done in silver and is a work of Csaba Ozsvári. Last April, he had the opportunity in Rome to give a replica of this cross to the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI.

The figurine representation of religious events was the meaning of his life. On his tomb is the phrase “Dilexit Ecclesiam” (He loved the Church), consciously chosen in analogy to that of Father Kentenich of whom he felt called to be his disciple and collaborator. He was buried on July 25, 2009. That day would have been his 46th birthday.

His family, the members of his Family Federation course, and the entire Hungarian Schoenstatt Family still cannot understand his sudden death. They are still searching for what God wanted to tell them through this. “God writes with lion claws:” this phrase by Blas Pascal is imposed here. With this event, it is now perceived that it is not only attached to a great sorrow, but also to a great grace.

We did not know Csaba Ozsvari but we feel, as a part of the Schoenstatt Family Federation, very sad for our brothers and sisters in the Hungarian Schoenstatt Family Federation at the loss of this dear brother. We want to offer our deepest sympathies to the Ozsvari family and all the Schoenstatt Family in Hungary.

We listen to Father Kentenich’s words: "Let me become fruitful for Schoenstatt and let my life become a creative Yes for everything you have planned in kindness for the salvation of souls through Schoenstatt."

In solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the Hungarian Shoenstatt Family Federation we want to assure you of our prayers for our brother Csaba and all his family.
