Your Covenant our MISSION

Quote of the Week. The intellectual and linguistic level of the Congress on the subject of New Evangelisation in Schoenstatt was high. How will it be applied in practice? Expressed in our Schoenstatt terminology, which is very different, I see the task as follows: The Pilgrim MTA was and is the modern pastoral method for places where there is still some Christian spirit present.

Where secularisation has advanced, we should activate the heart shrine, cultivating it and making it an instrument of the apostolate.

Carry the MTA unobtrusively to the people and entrust the people to her; carry the graces of pilgrimage into the midst of everyday life.

But the heart shrine not as an idea, but as a mission, and live with it personally, intensively and apostolically.

Fr. Fred Kistler, Nigeria

Cultivating this network of shrines centred on the Original Shrine,
from which all the graces pour out and to which all the graces flow in return,
is the aim of the Year of the Shrine Current.
Everything has originated at Schoenstatt and all our pilgrim ways
ultimately lead back to it,
so the new enthusiasm which grips us all for the importance of the Original Shrine
for our times as a place of grace and the presence of a saint in our midst,
as a place where God and nations meet,
and a place of missionary enthusiasm,
fills the Year of the Shrine Current with deeper meaning.

Fr. José María García, 2011, Year of the Shrine Current

This newsletter defies description. There is a wealth of information for us to share with our groups and Schoenstatters in general. It is wonderful and I am very excited about it. I will be sharing articles with Coordinators to share, in turn, with their rotations.

    Thank you so much.
