Reception of Sion Alb at Tupãrenda

PARAGUAY, Novitiate of the Schoenstatt Fathers •

With joy, the Secular Institute of Schoenstatt Fathers invites you to participate in the Reception of Sion Alb on Saturday, 6 July 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Trinidad Church at the Tupãrenda, Ypacaraí, Paraguay, Schoenstatt Shrine. In this Eucharistic celebration, the novices will receive their Sion Alb as a sign of belonging to our community. —

The current novitiate course began on March with the celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph.  The Master of Novices is Father Pablo Mullín. The eleven novices come from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Paraguay, and Switzerland.  With the power of the Covenant of Love with Mary in the Shrine, they began their journey to the ministry of Christ.

With the Reception of Sion Alb, each novice gives his YES to the will of God in his life, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Thus they confirm Jesus’ call to place themselves in service of others in the Schoenstatt Work and in the Church from the charism of our Father and Founder, Father Joseph Kentenich.

We invite you to accompany us and pray with us for this day and for each of the novices.

The celebration will take place on Saturday 6 July at 11:00 a.m. (Paraguayan time, GMT -4) and will be broadcast live on Facebook (“Santuario Tupãrenda Comunicaciones”).

The Sion Alb

The Sion Alb is a liturgical garment of the Schoenstatt Fathers’ community. Those who receive it are young people from the European-South American novitiate at Tupãrenda that begin their journey to the ministry of Christ according to the charism and example of our Father and Founder Father Joseph Kentenich. The alb and the cingulum in their form and color represent Mary, the Immaculate Virgin, who inspires the virginal life, obedience, and poverty of the Gospel. These symbols recall the inhabitants of Sion, the eternal city of God.
