Three questions…about Schoenstatt of the second century of the Covenant of Love (36)

My name is Cristina White, and I am from Argentina. On 6 August, it will be 29 years since I first learned about the Campaign, and met Father Esteban J. Uriburu. On that day, he gave me the first two Pilgrim MTAs for Henderson, in the area of Buenos Aires, where I lived at that time, and that is when the exciting adventure of being the Blessed Mother’s instrument began, which was boosted when I sealed my Covenant of Love with her. Today I can affirm as João Pozzobon said, everyday is a new beginning at the service of this great apostolic mission for the whole world. •

Six months into the pilgrimage through the second century of the covenant of love…what is your dream for this Schoenstatt in who we are and where we find ourselves in the Church, the world, and in our mission?

At this stage of Schoenstatt, I dream of a great flourishing of the Campaign throughout the world with leaders who live in the spirit of João Pozzobon, who understood beginning as Father Kentenich’s small disciple, who gave himself heroically with simplicity and mission consciousness in the strength of the covenant of love. He is an example for us especially for laypeople in that he understood the Schoenstatt message. He embodied it and he saw the Campaign as the “swift vehicle of the Schoenstatt message” for the people, for the flourishing of the Church, and for the whole world. This filled his heart that was enlarged by an immense love for Christ and for Mary.

In order to fulfill this dream, what do we need to avoid or leave behind?

I am convinced that for this flourishing of the Campaign to occur, the secret is summarized in João Pozzobon’s words: “Héroe hoy, no mañana” [“A hero today, not tomorrow”]. We need daring leaders who do not give into skepticism, putting our trust in our instrumentality and by grace are we invincible. Therefore we should be extra-ordinarily humble and small working to embody this is an urgent challenge. Through the Covenant of Love, the Blessed Mother wants to train a legion of leaders who will live sacrificially to conquer evil in the world that greatly worries us all.

In order to fulfill this dream, what practical steps do we have to take?

I believe that a concrete step would to dedicate more time cultivating our inner self and therefore in our silence, to learn how to listen serenely to the voice of the soul through what God, the Blessed Mother, Christ, our Father and Founder, João Pozzobon and all those to whom we are attached through the mystery of the communion of the saints, tell us. This would give us the boldness, certainty, and courage to give our all, it would widen our hearts, and it would give us the necessary strength, joined in heart, to take Schoenstatt to the ends of the world. “Action and contemplation.” By keeping the fire of our hearts alive, all of us through the Campaign will be able to collaborate to enkindle the world with the fire of Christ.
