New group of Schoenstatt Diocesan Priests Rome visit Belmonte Shrine

ROME, Rev. Fr. Louismary Ocha. On December 7, 2013, a group of Schoenstatt Diocesan priests newly constituted in Rome, Italy made a pilgrimage to Mater Ecclesiae Shrine Belmonte. The group made the pilgrimage after two weeks of their first meeting. The group was led to the shrine by Rev. Fr. Louismary Ocha, a priest of the Diocese of Umuahia, Nigeria, studying in Rome. The group is made up of African priests on further studies in Rome. Providentially, they had a symbolic number of twelve priests.

The group was welcomed to the shrine by Rev. Fr. Stephan Mueller, the Rector of the house and Rev. Fr. Georg Egle and as well by the volunteer Lucas Weiss. The Rector took the group to the shrine and round the environment , explaining the history of Belmonte and certain symbolic things and sites.

Covenant of Love

After reciting the holy rosary at 4pm, the Holy Mass of the vigil of the solemnity of Immaculate Conception started which was presided by Rev. Fr. Cicero De Almeida, a parish priest of Rome who made his covenant of love the other day, and concelebrated by the 12 priests and Rev. Fr. Georg Egle.

After the holy Mass, the group had a session with Rev. Fr. Georg Egle who gave answers to their numerous questions and traced the history of Schoenstatt to them and clarified the discourse on the Covenant of Love. The session ended with a dinner. The group left the International Schoenstatt Center filled with joy and revived in spirit.
