A “Mega-retreat” of the Schoenstatt Family Federation in Poland

POLAND, B. M. Jędrzejewscy. On August 1-5, 2012, 250 people (80 families) participated in a retreat called “Mega-retreat”- organized by the Polish Schoenstatt Family Federation at MOUNT ST. ANNA’S (Góra Świętej Anny). Families united in all ten courses of the Schoenstatt Family Federation of Poland came to Mount St Anna’s, a well-known place of pilgrimage and worship.

Each day of the Mega-retreat was devoted to different aspects of Schoenstatt spirituality such as: personal ideals, apostolate, building and bearing testimony to faith, and everyday sanctity.

Married couples took part in different workshops on the Christian vision of love, marriage, parenthood, and typical Schoenstatt ideals.

Because we are celebrating the Year of the Shrine Current, the role of Shrine in the life of a Schoenstatt family was emphasized during retreat.

Sharing experiences

The exchange of experience between older and younger families, which participated in the Mega-retreat, was very important.

On Saturday, August 4th, the participants of the event visited the Cenacle Shrine in Winów.

The high spot of the Mega-retreat was the Marian service led by Andrzej Czaja, the Opole Diocese Bishop, who delivered the homily in which he raised the important issue of lay missionary movement.

On the last day of the Mega-retreat, there was a live Internet on-line talk with the Marini family from Paraguay, who are leaders of the International Apostolic Family Federation.

The Mega-retreat was an important stage of preparation for the autonomy of the Polish Schoenstatt Family Federation in Poland, which is being planned for the year 2014 – the centenary of the Covenant of Love.
