Women’s Day of reflection in Ohio

Women's Day, OhioUSA, Susan Bernhold. On Saturday September 18, 2010, a women’s day of reflection was held at the Transfiguration Center in Ludlow Falls, Ohio. Thirty-three women some belonging to Schoenstatt (and one young man…6 month old Michael!) gathered for this beautiful day. Sr. M. Danielle Peters and Mrs. Cynthia Dillard presented “The greatest wealth is health-steps to a healthy/holy lifestyle.” One simple word could describe the entire day…joy!!! Of course that is the way it usually is with Schoenstatters-pure joy!

Participants

They began their day celebrating the holy mass together. What a perfect way to start! In her presentations, Sr. Danielle developed the topic based on principles taught by Father Joseph Kentenich. Schoenstatt’s founder was convinced that everyone has within them an “intuitive grasp” for what makes them happy. They only have to discover and activate it. This intuitive sense concerns one’s passions. Learning and exploring their main passions by using the image of Plato’s chariot with the two horses, and trying to combat their weaknesses with corresponding virtues opened up new horizons for everyone concerning self-knowledge and self-education.

A healthy focus

Dr. Dillard explained the power of positive thinking. Neurologically speaking, everyone’s brains are naturally wired for negative thoughts… People need to consciously consider positive thoughts. One can do this simply by focusing on “things” they enjoy. She used the example of gardening. It is vital that they know what helps them to be healthy… mentally, physically, and spiritually. Schoenstatt truly helped everyone to understand the power of positive thinking through prayer, trust in God’s Divine Providence, and having the Most Perfect Teacher…Our Mother Thrice Admirable!

Mother takes perfect care

Women need to take care of themselves, so they can care for those they love. This is done by placing their passions and temperaments at the service of the MTA through the Covenant of Love. That is what Mother does: she teaches us to be a Holy Family by living a healthy lifestyle. As both presenters agreed, Fr. Kentenich is a prophet for our times!

Hello! Do you also practice the devotion of the traveling statue? (From home to home)We would do this when I lived in Venezuela , and I would love to do this among families in Cincinnati, where I now love. Thank you!
