Schoenstatt, this weekend…

Flag with Schoenstatt logomkf. Schoenstatt is filling up with pilgrims during this month of September, a few days before the anniversary of Father Kentenich’s death, on September 15th, 41 years ago. The arrival of the pilgrimages from Brazil and Argentina are awaited. During this weekend and the coming week, several important events will also take place around the Shrines and wayside shrines throughout the world…

VorschauThis weekend, a pilgrimage from Brazil will be visiting Schoenstatt; a group from Argentina will come with Father Guillermo Carmona on Sunday after visiting Rome and the Holy Land.

September 15th at Schoenstatt

On September 15th they will participate in the Mass celebrated at 7:00 a.m. at the Adoration Church – the hour that Father Kentenich died. Father Heinrich Walter will be the main celebrant and Monsignor Hans Schnocks, rector of the House at Mount Moriah will give the homily (which Manuel Huapaya, in Peru, is translating to Spanish!) The night before, the Schoenstatt Family is invited to share testimonies about Father Kentenich as a priest. Father Ángel Strada will be the moderator Father Brath and Erest Kanzler (a Brother of Mary) will speak, and videos of the Horn Family (Milwaukee) and of Monsignor Krimm will be shown.

Italy: The large celebration at Belmonte

Just like every year, the Schoenstatt Family from Italy will gather at Belmonte next Sunday, September 8th, to celebrate the anniversary of the Matri Ecclesiae Shrine. They expect pilgrims from all the areas around Rome, from Tuscany and even from Sicily, especially the missionaries of the Campaign.

Vienna, Austria: Pilgrimage of the “Swabs from the Danube” with Monsignor Zollitsch

On September 12th,Mons. Robert Zollitsch, President of the German Episcopate, will accompany the traditional pilgrimage of the Swabs from the Danube (the ethnic Germans who live in the former Kingdom of Hungary, especially in the valley of the Danube River, and who were expelled after the Second World War) to the Schoenstatt Shrine in Kahlenberg, Vienna. This is the 27th pilgrimage. They will begin at the wayside shrine praying the rosary. Then Monsignor Zollitsch will celebrate the Holy Mass in the Shrine. Monsignor Zollitsch belongs to a family of Swabs from the Danube; he was born in Filipovo, the former Yugoslavia and he experienced the expulsion of his family and the assassination of his older brother before arriving to Germany in 1946 at the age of 17.

Argentina: Social Conference

At New Schoenstatt, Argentina, a Social Journey will take place this weekend. The conference by Father Angel Strada about the Social Encyclical by His Holiness Benedict XVI, “Caritas in veritate” , which was recorded at Schoenstatt, will be transmitted at 3:00p.m. German time (10:00 in Argentina via schoenstatt-tv.de (in Spanish)

Johannesburg, South Africa: Priestly ordination of Simon Donnelly

On September 13th the great day will finally arrive: the priestly ordination of Simon Donnelly, of the Schoenstatt Family from South Afica (and also partly from Rome, where he studied, and totally of the family of schoenstatt.de, as a seasoned correspondent). Congratulatons, Simon, from here and from everywhere in the world that your articles reached!

Similarly, another priestly ordination is approaching, that of Fran Riedel, of the Schoenstatt Fathers, Germany, on September 20th at the Adoration Church!

Stuttgart: 40th Anniversary of the Shrine in Freiberg

On September 14th, the Shrine in Stuttgart-Frieberg (Institute of Our Lady of Schoenstatt will celebrate its 40th Anniversary. The celebration will take place on September 13th. The Shrine shelters the original Unity Cross as a special treasure, it was a gift from Father Kentenich. Happy Birthday, Shrine!
