Schoenstatt – Reaching out Category

by Sarah-Leah Pimentel, Cape Town, South Africa • The silence of Holy Thursday descends upon us. The Church is empty as the Blessed Sacrament is taken to the Altar of Repose. The altar is stripped bare. The holy water is removed from the fonts. A sense of dread fills the air, because we know what is coming. We know that Christ will walk to Calvary tomorrow. For the sins of the world, he will be tortured and nailed to a Cross. He will die an agonizing death. And so weRead More
by Martin Schiffl, from www.schoenstatt.at Eight Austrian couples received their diplomas signed by Bishop Klaus Küng, and Father Felix Stässle sent them forth. These eight couples are now trained as Kentenich educators. They have studied and applied the pedagogy of Father Joseph Kentenich in a two-year course of the Academy for Family Pedagogy in Vienna. They have applied this training in their own families, as well as in a project of their choice. The celebration’s guests manifested surprise and admiration, when the “instructors” presented their projects. Here and there anRead More
Juan Barbosa.
By Maria Fischer. “Jesus was the master of time wasting, no? He wasted time to accompany, to allow consciences to mature, to heal, to teach…” This quote from Pope Francis’ message during the Jubilee audience on October 25th marked and touched the weekend of the International Kentenich Academy for executives. (IKAF). Wasting time, beginning with the arrival: the trip was longer, because of the amount of snowfall and more than one participant needed help on the last kilometer up the hill that leads to “Schönstatt auf`m Berg” [Schoenstatt on theRead More
mda. “With pain, with great pain…” remarked Pope Francis during the Angelus on Sunday 15 March, “I learned about today’s terrorist attacks against two churches in Lahore in Pakistan that resulted in many deaths and injuries. These are Christian churches. Christians are being persecuted. Our brothers are spilling their blood just because they are Christians. Meanwhile, be assured of my prayers for the victims and their families. I ask the Lord, the source of all good, for the gift of peace and harmony for that country, and that this persecutionRead More

COSTA RICA, Rosa Lobo. Approximately five years ago, a group of Schoenstatt couples from San José, Costa Rica’s capital city, dreamed of carrying out a project that would provide an opportunity to educate children in Father Joseph Kentenich’s pedagogy. These families, who are trained in the field of education, felt the strong impulse to present Schoenstatt’s richness in the academic world and take it to the heart of the families. Mary is the Great Educator, and she not only forms her children, but through them, she reaches their homes asRead More
