2014
vem. On Saturday, May 12th, a beautiful celebration of the Holy Mass was held on the way toward 2014 in Covenant with Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is an island off southeast India. The Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt arrived in this country from Mulgoa, Australia and also through the English speaking community in Berlin, Germany. This Holy Mass was celebrated in a close spiritual union with everyone who takes the Covenant to this land and to everyone who will one day seal their Covenant of Love with the MTA.
BRAZIL, fma. Maria Rita Vianna from Sao Paulo, Brazil, joined the schoenstatt.org and schoenstatt2014.org translation and editorial team several weeks ago. She translates from Spanish to Portuguese. Here, she shares what it means for her to translate for the international website, her apostolate and what most attracts her about the Covenant of Love Jubilee.
PORTUGAL, Maria de Lurdes Dias. The motivation of offering my time to translate for the International website was a desire to contribute, as a free instrument in the hands of God the Father, towards building a world where love, hope, and faith in God the Father is born every day, where we all love one another as children of the same Father and the same Mother, where we can all work towards the common good taking special care of the poor, the sick, and marginalized. Such a world is built on a Covenant Culture, it is that “land so warm and dear…”
Agathe Hug/org. Late Prelate Wilhelm Wissing, who was closely united to the Schoenstatt Movement, was the person who took hundreds of pictures of the Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt on his trips to South Korea and distributed them among the people. On May 5th, the Holy Mass “toward 2014” will be celebrated in Covenant with South Korea, where there is no direct contact with Schoenstatt at this time, but we are sure that the Most Holy Virgin has arrived there and She will act. In Santa Maria, Brazil they know that the Pilgrim MTA is in South Korea.
María Elena Vilches. South Africa was one of the first countries where Schoenstatt was established outside of Europe. Father Kentenich visited this country during 1947 and 1948. The Schoenstatt Family of South Africa lives from the strength that emerges from its Shrines, whose cornerstones Father Kentenich blessed, and today they feel especially united to the Original Shrine.
ARGENTINA, Jorge Benedetti/Carlos Eduardo Ferré. At the Dunken Publishing House of Buenos Aires, presentation of the book "THE SOCIAL SAINT - Thinking and Practice of Joseph Kentenich on the Church's Social Doctrine" took place. Patris Argentina Publishing House published the book. The Rev. Alejandro Blanco from the Federation of Schoenstatt Priests and Jorge A. Benedetti, President of the Thomas More Group, was in charge of the presentation. They referred to the author's trajectory, made inroads into the analysis of some of the passages in the book, and highlighted the personality of Father Joseph Kentenich.
Agathe Hug/org. It was Saturday number one of the new chronology. It was the first Saturday with a Holy Mass "in covenant with…" after the contract to entrust the Original Shrine became effective. That Saturday's Holy Mass was in Covenant with Slovakia, and the following Saturday, April 21st, it was in covenant with Slovenia.
María Elena Vilches. The Holy Mass "toward 2014" was celebrated once again, this time it was in covenant with Slovenia. The Covenant of Love was established recently in this southeastern European country -which is politically young. The Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign is already in Slovenia; She works in the homes and in the hearts of many people just as She does in more than the 130 countries where the campaign exists.
ARGENTINA, Anita and Héctor Zudaire. The Father Symbol visiting the Diocese of Azul initially was not on the itinerary, but plans changed-thanks to God, Sister Sofia's intercession, and the Family from La Plata's goodwill.
PORTUGAL, José Vilarinho. The Schoenstatt Family in Aveiro found a unique way to prepare for the Jubilee of the Covenant of Love by conquering the 2500 kilometers to the Mother Shrine: to cycle from the Schoenstatt shrine to other Marian shrines in Portugal in various stages. The most recent pilgrimage took place on 25 March, from the Tabor Centre shrine in Aveiro to the shrine of Our Lady the Helper in Mogofores.
