We unite in Covenant Solidarity, with prayer and capital of grace for the victims of the strong earthquake in Mexico. The earthquake has been felt strongly in the country’s capital, where there have been numerous panic scenes just two hours after the citizens took to the streets of all Mexico in a simulated commemoration of the violent earthquake of 1985 that devastated the capital and left more than 10,000 dead.
Let us pray for the victims, the deceased, the wounded, those who are in anguish, those who lost homes, loved belongings – and for all who run to help.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother thrice Admirable, bless the people of Mexico in these hours of pain.
Lord God, who dominates the heavens and the earth and calms the storms, hear our supplications and remove the fury of the nature of all the lands of our brothers, that these telluric movements lose their force so that our fear becomes jubilant action of gratitude. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit and is GOD, for ever and ever. Amen.
