1,000 Hail Marys for the Nueve de Julio’s patron feast day celebration

ARGENTINA, Analía Guaragna

1,000 Hail Marys in Adoration were prayed on Sunday, 6 August, within the celebration of St. Domingo de Guzmán’s feast day, the patron of the Cathedral and of the Diocese of Nueve de Julio. The celebration was held at 6:00 p.m. at Fatima Parish within the framework of the 100 years of Mary’s apparition at Fatima and of the last day that this parish would be open, since it will be temporarily closed for repairs.

On October 13, Fatima Parish, Nueve de Julio, will be elevated in category, and it will become a Marian spirituality center for the entire Diocese.

The decision came about on the occasion of the Jubilee year of the centenary of Our Lady of Fatima’s apparitions, and because she is the patroness of our diocese.

“This center of spirituality should become a field hospital, as Pope Francis has said. It should be a place where the faithful can come with the certainty that they can heal their wounds,” local bishop, Ariel Torrado Mosconi explained.

The Rosary, a school for life

1,000 Hail Marys in Adoration, organized by the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, had special relevance. Parish groups, religious and the faithful in general attended. Everyone took on the prayer of the rosary (it takes 20 rosaries for 1,000 Hail Marys) and everyone helped out.

Continuing with the program, at 6:00 p.m., there was a talk called “The Rosary, a school for life.” Mrs. Cristina White, Schoenstatt diocesan adviser of 9 de Julio, was in charge.

The Schoenstatt Madrugadores were in charge of preparing the 7:00 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral; they are preparing to welcome Madrugadores from allover Argentina for the large National Gathering on 19-21 August. For this, they have invited the entire city to pray the Rosary in Puertas del Parque de General San Martín and for Mass in the Cathedral.
