Twenty of Panama’s communities come together to celebrate Schoenstatt work

PANAMÁ, Fer Castro •

The “Santa Marta” women’s group from Panama has been working very hard for several years to help strengthen Schoenstatt’s beginnings in that country.

On 18 November 2016, the celebration of the first Covenant of Love group was held.  Twelve people (10 women and two men) sealed the Covenant of Love. (Photo above)

A Pilgrim Mother celebration was held in the San Carlos community, province of Panama, on 18 October 2016, where pilgrims from Cabuya and Antón, Coclé province, have been participating in pilgrimages since 1993. There are approximately 200 missionaries and pilgrims who have twenty-three Pilgrim Mothers.

A Christmas party for the whole family

For two consecutive years, 2015 and 2016, the Santa Marta Women’s Branch group and their families have organized a Christmas celebration for the Cabuya community. Families and their children are invited; they are each given clothes and a Christmas gift. Moreover they spend a very enjoyable day with the three kings, inflatable games, food, and different activities for the children to enjoy celebrating Jesus’ birth.

First Pilgrim Mother bringing communities together

The pilgrims’ community from the Coclé province celebrates August 6 each year in a special way; that is date in 1993 that they received the first picture of the Pilgrim Mother. Every year the twenty communities arrive with the Pilgrim Mother decorated with flowers and ribbons. The Pilgrim Mother from Cabuya’s headquarters comes to welcome each of the Pilgrim Mothers from the other communities, and they salute them. It is a very pretty and meaningful patronal celebration for all the communities involved.
