Secular Institute of the Schoenstatt Fathers, Mount Sion – Official Release •
Today, 22 August, the feast day of Mary’s Queenship, the General Chapter of the Schoenstatt Fathers, with great joy, want to communicate that they have elected the new general council of their institute. The members are:
Fr. Juan Pablo Catoggio (Argentina), Superior General
Fr. Antonio Bracht (Brazil), First Councillor
Fr. José Luis Zabala (Chile), Responsible for the Free Communities
Fr. Heinrich Walter (Germany), Councillor
Fr. Raúl Espina (Chile), Councillor
We ended the day in our Mount Zion Shrine to give thanks for the intercession of the Blessed Mother, who looked on us with motherly tenderness. An unexpected rainbow appeared over our shrine throughout Vespers. We interpreted this sign as a gift from God and a sign of blessing from heaven, which commits us to live the Covenant in a missionary way, as the Schoenstatt Family asked us during the recent Pentecost Congress.
The General Chapter will continue its meeting until the end of August, to delineate the course of our community life and our pastoral action, examining the motions that have been elaborated by members of our Community throughout the world over the last year
On 3 September, His Holiness Pope Francis will receive the new General Council and members of the Chapter in a private audience.
We thank the many signs of solidarity and the prayers of all the members of the Schoenstatt Family and friends of our Community. We promise that we will continue to pray for everyone, at the same time asking for your prayers.
